Once upon a time when time was not even present, lived a creature inside an isolated island. This creature was nothing similar to the other creatures that lived on that particular island. No one knows where it was born. No one has any idea when it arrived there. One thing is certain for the other creatures, everything they have treasured is on the verge of jeopardy.
CHAPTER 1
Gravity has taken its toll on the cold and lump shoulders of a girl. A timid girl pushed back from all the commotion inside the depths of her own subconscious and chaotic yet orderly world.
She observed from the viewpoint of her chair the movements of her classmates. She spied on their every expressions, whether it be big—that it was so obvious; or small—that it slightly gives off their hidden scent. She sat there and created a story. She sat there and made connections, and broke that connections to build just another connection.
Mere tiny dot in the arrangement of things. So small a dot that they become invisible to the naked and unwary eyes. She smirked. People are puny and unknowing, she thought.
The bell boomed all over the massive building complex established to forego self-development and welcome forced and very unpractical knowledge. Where the system controls and not the other. Yes, it is a school. A typical school amongst all other typical schools under the impression of ‘preparing students for the future’.
She immediately stood and cleaned up her desk. Walked casually with her rigid posture. Never smiling. Just walking. Walking towards the end of the grasp of the school and into the hands of a much bigger society.
Most students of the Greenfield High baptised her as the ‘Phantom’. Of the three years harboured in her school, she never spoke to anyone nor did she allow it. It is as if she is not even there, one student would comment. Could she be a ghost that we all see?, another would gossip.
But she did not care. She kept her head high and her demeanour kempt. She does not involve herself in other people’s business, and that is why they stopped immersing themselves with her unforced mystery.
She lives her life like a passing mirage it would seem. But she did not choose this, of course. She was not born like that, after all. The truth that one must remember to really understand her is that, she woke up one morning and realized that she is exhausted of this world and wants to escape to another.
Another world where she will feel content and happiness. Where all her dreams are reality and only she has the command and power. It is the other world where all people wanted to be. But they would not dare venture into, for in this other world lies the true colour of man. And they are afraid. And they hated even the idea of this other world.
But she has the courage for she has the will. Because she is more scared of the façade reality than her deepest nightmares and darkest desires mixed along with the sleeping monsters of her subconscious.
